Shouldn't people read the Koran before talking about it?
Tue, 09/21/2010 - 14:28 — katkanningIn all the debate about the 911 mosque site and the Florida pastor burning the Koran, I don't think anyone has reported on what the Koran actually says.
America has had relatively few problems absorbing the majority of our immigrants who claim the name of Islam precisely because they don't follow the homicidal parts of the Koran. We have trouble with anyone, whether born into Islam or converted, who acts on them. The issue is not with Islam per se; our problem lies with people who consider the Koran as written to be their definitive guide to how to approach non-Muslims.
How can anyone who reads the passages below seriously claim that fundamental, Koran=based Islam is a religion of peace? Most Muslims are peaceful, true, but Kranic literalists aren't
Slay them wherever you find them...Idolatry is worse than carnage...Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme. - Surah 2:190
September 5th is Jury Rights Day
Thu, 09/02/2010 - 19:01 — katkanningSeptember 5, 2010 is the annual celebration of "Jury Rights Day" whereby "We the People" commemorate our obligation and duty, as citizens. to protecting our neighbors from the avarice and greed of the corporate governments with which we now are suffering. Our National constitution specifically delegates, by Article 3, Section 2, all "Admiralty and Maritime" jurisdiction to the Federal courts

Dear Kat,
The articles “From War to Peace”, “Who Killed Phoebe Prince”, “Authoritarianism is Bad for your Health” were all excellent. Jason Osborne's speech was also pure principles, so I loved it.
I was sent your little paper, and the Keene Free Press and I enjoyed them very much. As a Libertarian of 30 years, I hope NH is developing into an activist hotbed of liberty advocates. One of my favorite programs is Free Talk Live with Ian Freeman. My wife was on Free Talk Live recently about my particular case.
The American Dream is Over
Sun, 06/27/2010 - 16:13 — katkanningThe American dream is over. The final blow has been struck. Our country is falling apart as we bail out banksters and spend billions on illegal, immoral wars. We owe trillions in national debt. We are so mired in debts that politicians have buried us in, we may never see the sky again. We have been raped and pillaged for the last 100 years and most of you have turned a blind eye. Where are the billions of dollars “lost” by the Pentagon? Where are the billions of dollars “lost” in Iraq?
A Response to The Millionaire Cop Next Door
Sun, 06/27/2010 - 15:02 — katkanningWe are fast becoming a nation of two classes of people again. This time, it will not be white and black, but rich and poor. In both cases, the government was and is behind each separation.
The U.S. Government has a history of putting itself first while it bullies and lies to the rest. That history has been developed over time. Our forefathers created a nation that was by the people and for the people. Since then, greed turned it all around.
The people are as much to blame for this as the government. Too many watched and did nothing. Life was too good, we thought. The truth is that life was controlled. Now we are owned. That is what happens when you let the government take and take. You simply get taken.
Today we vote out of fear because of it all. At the same time, the government gets richer while you lose and lose. Where is your pension?
Those who run our lives must be laughing out loud. Slavery is back. What a shame.

Proud Graftonite
Thu, 04/15/2010 - 06:02 — katkanningDear NHFP,
I am writing in support of your excelent publication, which I used to pick up at the Canaan Village Pizza, but for some reason is no longer on the shelf containing free real estate literature. I am a Graftonite born and bred, but unfortunately I am curently in exile in Canaan. My grandfathers were true conservatives, men who knew the importance and absolute necessity of limited government to support and foster a "Country for the free and liberated". I am thankful that they died before they would have to witness the degredation and destruction of our identity and our homeland. I for one am proud to have Grafton become a new haven for Porcupines, visionary people who lack the contention to disappear quietly with little opposition towards the tyrannical "powers of progress and liberation".
Obamacare will kill my wife
Thu, 03/11/2010 - 12:33 — katkanningShe's not ill often, but when my wife gets sick, she confuses the doctors. When she had a tubular pregnancy, she had no pain in her ovaries so the doctor didn't think she was pregnant at all. She insisted that he give her the test, and he did.
The next day, he called frantically because the test showed she was pregnant and he knew the fetus was not in her uterus. They got it out a few hours before she would have ruptured and bled to death.
Under Obamacare, the government will publish a list of what is covered and what is not. Since my wife did not have the right symptoms, a doctor wouldn't want to get in trouble with the government by giving her a test that was not on the list.
Government isn't very good at making judgment calls - they've been suspending kids for bringing cough drops to school because that's what the rules say. How can we expect health rules to be any different?
The Government Wants to Control You
Wed, 03/03/2010 - 17:08 — katkanningToday more than ever, we must ask ourselves about the direction this country is heading in. Is it for the freedom our forefathers believed in and fought for, or is it giving in to the greed of a people that believes in self interest that can only be paid for with higher taxes?
There is that word again. Taxes. A word that means money in the pockets of those who take freedom away.
When Keene police arrested a woman for choosing to go topless like the men do, their actions were paid for with taxes. When Lauren or Dave are placed in a car that was paid for with tax dollars, remember that it was greed that helped to pay for the illegal arrests.
Personal or political greed--it does not matter. There are other forms of greed as well. When a home is seized by a bank, it is done because of corporate greed. When the government does not want you to speak out in the name of real freedom, it is because of greed.
Mr. Obama is incorrect - the science of "global warming" is NOT settled
Wed, 03/03/2010 - 16:23 — katkanning
England just had the coldest January in years. The high-speed train between England and France was stopped by unusually cold and snowy weather. The Copenhagen "Global Warming" conference had the coldest weather the city has seen in a long time.
To top it off, Mr. Obama said in his State of the Union address that the science of Global Warming is settled beyond doubt. The Republicans laughed; that was the silliest thing I've heard a President say in many years.
If you google "climategate" you'll find that newspapers in England are doing their job and reporting on the scientific frauds done at government labs so the scientists could get more grants of our money.
And now, just after Mr. Obama told us that the scientists had agreed it was getting warmer, DC has a record snowfall going back to the 1800's.
Jailed for Jesus Christ
Sun, 01/03/2010 - 08:12 — katkanningFor more than forty years I, Ron Branson, have been driving without accident or liability. During such time, neither my faith in Christ, nor a government imposed religion has come into play. However, after so many years of driving, the government has now decided to assert their religious standard in order to renew a driver’s license. Hence, they now require that I bow the knee and do obeisance to their socialistic god of humanism, to wit, revere the Social Security Number (SSN), aka, a Socialist tracking number.
