The Fine Arts Collaboration is proud to present the work of three renowned artists in its show at the Gallery at Intermezzo, 6 School Street, Peterborough. The show is the group's first of the year and will hang for the month of May. An artist's reception will be held during Peterborough's First Friday celebration (May 2) starting at 5 o'clock and, for the rest of the month, the artists will be in attendance on weekends, or by appointment, for discussions of their art.
Artists that are showing:
Debra Blore is a dynamic artist currently dividing her time between New Hampshire and the Highlands of Scotland. She will show a variety of her paintings in oil. After years of chasing light around the world, Debra has settled on these two countries for a combination of their light, spirit, scenery and soul. A full-time artist, her fine art is hanging in collections in the U.S.A., Scotland, Switzerland, England, The Bahamas and Germany.
Alex Farquharson has been a professional painter and illustrator for 30 years. His paintings and etchings are in private collections throughout the country, and his illustrations have appeared in books for over 20 publishers nation-wide. Alex's latest illustration project is a children's book due for release this summer that is filled with the adventures of a 19th century sailing ship. Mr. Farquharson will be showing his collectable oil landscapes.
Mary Iselin is a professional artist whose paintings in oil are luminous and filled with light. She sees the horse as a bridge connecting spirit with everyday reality. The sheep and lambs which become her models are chosen for the ability of their fleece to "take the light." And her landscape motifs are selected for their special qualities of light, color, and atmosphere. Mary's art has been featured on Rural Heritage TV, and can be found in many collections, both public and private, across North America.
The Fine Arts Collaboration was founded with the vision of displaying choice works of art to the public. Debra Blore has assembled a group of other dedicated, professional artists to present their work in galleries and shows. The mission of TFAC is to participate in the interest of the community, often joining with and donating a portion of their proceeds to deserving charities. These events are produced entirely by the artists who create a warm, friendly environment where collectors may interact with them, see new creations and commission personal pieces.
"We love art for art's sake. That is our passion. It starts out as a private expression of the soul, however bringing it to the public is a joy, a validation and, for the professional artist, a necessity," Ms. Blore said.
