Wachusett Mountain’s Scenic Stage Hosts Big Name Bands
PRINCETON, MA- Grab your blanket and lawn chairs for Wachusett Mountain’s 11th Annual Music and Blues Festival. With the biggest Saturday bill Wachusett has ever had, and the return of the biggest blues band they’ve ever had, this year’s festival is not to be missed!
Saturday September 6 will open with Whiskey Falls, a Nashville Tennessee based band with an original southern sound. Pure Prairie League will then take the stage with their classic rock hits. All leading up to the headlining act, with it’s only performance in Massachusetts this year, The Outlaws!
Sunday September 7 local favorites will open the festival. Leading off with Mary Lou Ferrante and her pre-war, 1920’s & 30’s blues sound. Ernie and the Automatics will follow with their traditional smooth blues. Then get ready to rock with Chris Fitz Band.
Following the local favorites, “The Great Lady of Soul” Bettye Lavette will perform. Her classic soul sound doesn’t get any better. Then, for the first time, Wachusett is bringing back the biggest blues band that has ever performed on the mountain, The Fabulous Thunderbirds! With the co-founder and original member Kim Wilson their blend of Texas style blues and power rock will have you out of your seats and dancing up a storm.
This year, MusicFest is not only about the music but about getting the Green Message across. Be sure to check out the environmental expo where you can get great info and tips on how you can increase your energy efficiency provided by several local non-profit organizations.
