You are Being Heard
There are a lot of people out there, with many of them being readers and supporters of this newspaper, who do not think that you can change government(s). A number of these people would rather live their free lifestyle in spite of the government. I think that is fine, but I feel that you can change government, and thus, your life.
It is clear that government is structured in a way that benefits itself more than it benefits you. It is also clear that a great many laws of this country support a government that is slowly but surely taking away the freedoms of its people. Eminent domain is one such law. Censorship and spying are also government rights given to itself by law. I could write a book about how the laws of this country affect your freedom and your right to live how you choose. It is a shame that we have gone from a country that was by the people and for the people, to a country that intimidates the people.
This can be stopped because government, special interest, and big business can be changed. The best way to do this is to be a part of it. Now I know what some of you are saying right now as you read this. “What? Is he crazy? Me, be a part of government? I thought he was on our side!”
Well, I'm not crazy, and I am on your side. I still say the best way to bring about change is to vote for change. Vote out those who use power over you, and vote in those who share your ideas. If all of those people who did not vote four years ago suddenly voted for members of a new party, then Washington would be turned upside down. In reality, this can happen, but it would take time.
Face it, more and more people are sick of the way government is running this country. Votes equal change. Ron Paul would have been a good change, but not enough people bought his message. That is where the right advertising comes in. Blend good people with media smarts together with television, the Internet, radio, print, and so on, and you will move mountains. You need to be heard. Voices in numbers also count. The 1960's are proof of that. Every single person who protests the war in Iraq is being heard. That is because they kept shouting, and over time, more people began to believe them because another day had passed and the war continues to this day with no end in sight, and more money is being spent on it while the economy sinks even more.
Keep shouting! You are being heard more than you know. Voting, media use, words and more are just a fraction of what it takes to change government. In order to take something down, you have to take it apart bit by bit, part by part, and wire by wire. If the FBI spends your tax dollars in stupid ways (I wrote about this topic last year), then let it be known. Push forward with the truth. People are listening. When Kat Kanning exposes the truth, people read about it.
The first step to government change, is to be a part of the system that you want no part of, then clean it up. That takes votes. It also takes a lot of voices that expose the truth. It means work.
In the end, a new bell will ring for freedom.
The only person who can stop you from action is you.
I am,
George Vreeland Hill
